CONCLUSIONS
After user testing, the MVP was updated with new insights, such as adding a filter section for job postings and making some UI adjustments. It achieved an 85% success rate on the main features. Moving forward, there are plans to add a desktop version for the web app.
What I learned:
- Some insights that were found were not taken into account for this MVP because they correspond to another type of design process that was not the main focus for this project.
- Start with the mobile version first, and then proceed with the desktop version.
RESEARCH
I conducted desktop research and user interviews to gain deeper insights into the problem and the users, aiming to understand the main pain points.
INSIGHTS
- The increase in remote jobs has led to a rise in housing prices and rentals, making it increasingly challenging to secure accommodation due to numerous requirements.
- Due to the large number of job postings, it is difficult to know when a job posting is current or not.
- Sometimes when you want to apply you need to do this in a new page where you have to fill out all you information again.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Techspot aims to be a solution for people who are seeking a new job or accommodation
to a new city, with the possibility that some companies may also offer assistance
in finding a place to live.
MY ROLE
As a UX/UI designer, I was able to go through different phases of the design thinking process to develop, define, and design the MVP, ensuring it meets the main objectives with a focus on the mobile version of the project.
THE CHALLENGE
Moving to a new city is always a challenge for people. Knowing where to work and live are the main concerns when facing this challenge. As a newcomer, meeting the requirements for renting a place can be difficult initially. That's why Techspot aims to provide job opportunities in the technology sector while also showcasing companies that offer assistance with accommodation.
THE SOLUTION
For this project, a web app is the best option for the MVP, allowing users to browse different job offers from companies that offer accommodation assistance or have accommodation options.
